Carey was 5'10 in height before she stepped up to the high-end model. She was a popular model among American fashion designers Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren was extremely high. Her father was a prominent geologist and awarded the title of Scientist from 1979 by Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was educated across the globe due to the work of her father. While she attended in the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. The Ford Model Agency in New York noticed her and offered to help. She stayed in France briefly, in Paris and Bordeaux. Then she returned home to New York for her college studies as well as to develop her modeling career. Between her modelling assignments, she studied literature full time during her time at New York University. Then she became interested in acting and started studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. She began her acting career by playing a minor part in the film 'Club Paradise" in 1986, starring Robin Williams. Her hobbies include doing white-water rafting, skiing, wind-surfing and climbing rocks.
