Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into a mixed family. She has a father who is Nigerian as well as Swiss and the mother of her is English. Her family was raised in the south of a London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. She was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an BA in acting. She appeared on stage in several productions as a student such as King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career in the film Storm Damage. In the following years, she appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer is that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside as Ollie. Madekwe played Bambi on The ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred in the comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her debut in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show ran on The CW for only two episodes before being removed from the air. In February 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. In late May 2013, it was announced that Madekwe who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, would be leaving the show with a guest appearance on the premier episode of the new season. She was Tituba in the TV program Salem in 2014 until. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also played a part with her in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a huge family in Hamilton, Ontario. Ashley Leggat was born to Roy and Patty as well her older siblings, Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. All of her brothers were athletic and played baseball and hockey in the summer and winter. They grew up playing the arenas and baseball. Ashley could not walk but danced. This led to the fact that as she grew older, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. When she was in high school, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just a few.
